Wristband Pincushion
This pretty pincushion is easy to sew and the practical wristband means that it can be always to hand when you are sewing.

You will need:
- Fabric — two 4" squares and two strips 2" × 8½"
- Interfacing — 1½" × 8"
- Button
- Sew on Velcro — ¾" × 1"
- Sewing thread
- Stuffing — fabric scraps work well
To make the cushion:

Pin the two squares of fabric right sides together and sew around the outside using a ¼" seam. Leave an opening (marked by the pins in the picture) for turning the right way out and stuffing.
Trim the seam allowance, particularly at the corners. Turn right side out and press.

Stuff the cushion and stitch the opening closed.

To make the wristband:
Press down the ¼" seam allowance on both wristband strips.

Pin the strips wrong sides together with a strip of interfacing in between.

Topstitch all the way around the band.
To assemble:
Attach your thread to the bottom of the cushion and sew the cushion to the middle of the wristband by sewing up through the cushion, through a hole in your button, down through the button, through the cushion, through the wristband. Then, back up through the wristband, cushion and button. Repeat until the button is securely fastened to the cushion and the cushion is secure on the wristband.

Sew one side of the Velcro to the upper side of one end of the band.

Sew the other side to the lower side of the other end, checking that they meet when the band is closed around your wrist.

Trim any trailing threads and you're done!
