Directions
Cast on 32 stitches.
Work 4 rows garter stitch.
Work 2 rows stockinette stitch.
Continue alternating garter and stockinette stitch sections as follows:
4 rows garter stitch.
2 rows stockinette stitch.
6 rows garter stitch.
2 rows stockinette stitch.
4 rows garter stitch.
2 rows stockinette stitch.
12 rows garter stitch.
2 rows stockinette stitch.
4 rows garter stitch.
2 rows stockinette stitch.
6 rows garter stitch.
2 rows stockinette stitch.
4 rows garter stitch.
2 rows stockinette stitch.

Work until cosy is 11” long.
Next RS row: K8 and place on holder, cast off 4, K10 and place on holder, cast off 6, K4.
With these 4 stitches, knit 6 rows then cast off 4 stitches.
Place 10 stitches back on needle, rejoin yarn and knit 6 rows. Cast off 10 stitches.
Place remaining 8 stitches back on needle, rejoin yarn and knit 6 rows. Cast off 8 stitches.
Finishing
Add button loops to long straight edge of cosy (as shown in picture). The pictured cosy has sewn button loops but crochet or i-cord would also work. Sew buttons to flaps.
