A simple knitted cosy to fit a La Cafetiere Classic 8 cup cafetière.

Gauge
4" = 18 rows, 20 stitches in garter stitch.
Materials
Yarn: 50m of Rowan Scottish Tweed Aran in Oatmeal
Needles: 4mm
3 buttons
Directions
Cast on 22 stitches.
Knit 5 rows plain.
Next two rows form buttonholes:
Knit 2, cast off 2, knit 4, cast off 2, knit 8, cast off 2, knit 2.
Knit 2, cast on 2, knit 8, cast on 2, knit 4, cast on 2, knit 2.
Knit all rows until cosy measures 11.5" from buttonholes.
Being careful that flaps match up with buttonholes, either:
From top edge: Knit 16 (place these stitches on holder), cast off 2, knit 4. Continue to knit these 4 stitches in garter stitch for 12 rows. Cast off 4 stitches.
From bottom edge: Knit 4 (place these stitches on holder), cast off 2, knit 16. Continue to knit these 16 stitches in garter stitch for 12 rows. Cast off 16 stitches.
Place stitches from holder (4 or 16) back onto needle and knit 12 rows garter stitch. Cast off all remaining stitches.
Finishing
Sew on buttons and weave in ends.
